We love dual exfoliation (combining plant-derived acids and soft, non-scratchy physical particles), because it’s the gentlest, most effective way to refresh your skin. Our unique formulas uses 1.5% Salicylic Acid (BHA) to dive deep into pores, unclogging, clearing excess oil and helping tackle impurities for a smoother, clearer complexion.

On top of that, Rice Bran powder provides a delicate physical exfoliation, packed with antioxidant-rich, moisturising proteins. Bentonite Clay helps draw out pollutants while Marshmallow Root Extract soothes and calms skin.

How to use:

AM - Fresh Start

1. Cleanse with your favourite natural cleanser.
2. Dispense a few shakes of powder into wet hands and rub together to form a soft paste.
3. Massage gently over your face in circular motions to buff away the sleepies and start the day glowing.
4. Rinse well, then follow with your go-to serum, moisturiser and SPF.

PM - Wind Down

1. After double cleansing, mix the powder into a paste as above.
2. Massage gently over your face. You can then leave it on for 5 minutes as a nourishing mask (perfect while you brush your teeth or run a bath!).
3. Rinse off, pat dry and follow with your favourite serum and night cream - we love our Night Restoration Cream!

Does this increase sun sensitivity?

As our formula contains Salicylic Acid, this can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. By gently exfoliating and removing dead skin cells, it temporarily thins the skin’s natural protective barrier, making it easier for UV rays to have an effect.

So please, wear an SPF every day!

100% Tamanu Oil - A lush, cold-pressed oil that helps calm and repair blemish-prone skin. Apply after cleansing but before moisturising. It might sound strange to use oil on breakouts, but the right oils can actually help balance your skin and reduce excess oil production (one of the main culprits behind blemishes).

Hyaluronic Acid & Niacinamide Serum - Deeply hydrates while balancing oil production and smoothing skin texture. It’s lightweight, non-irritating and great for all skin types, including sensitive and blemish-prone.

For clearer, calmer skin, we also recommend double cleansing in the evening. Start with our Oil Cleansing Method to dissolve makeup, sunscreen, dirt and excess oil trapped in pores.

Follow with the Gentle Foaming Face Cleanser, enriched with Papaya Fruit Extract for mild exfoliation and Calendula Extract to calm redness. It’s soap-free and SLS-free, so it won’t strip your skin dry. Use the Foaming Cleanser in the morning to cleanse away any sweat or dirt from the night.

Will it help with breakouts and blackheads?

That’s the idea! The Salicylic Acid works deep in the pores to unclog and clear excess oil, while the Rice Bran powder buffs away dead skin cells, both of which can contribute to pimples and congestion.

Do I need to use a moisturiser after exfoliating?

Yes, please. Exfoliating helps your serums and moisturisers sink in better, so your skin gets the full benefit. We recommend following with your favourite MooGoo Face Cream (Night Restoration Cream is a dream for PM).

Can this be used on teens/tweens?

Yes, with a little guidance. Our Gentle Exfoliating Micro Powder is made to be super gentle, so it’s safe for younger skin that’s just starting to deal with things like oiliness, blackheads or the odd breakout. We use a low level (1.5%) of Salicylic Acid, which is effective but not harsh.

That said, tweens don’t usually need to exfoliate every single day. A couple of times a week is often plenty for younger skin. And of course, if your tween has ongoing skin concerns, it’s always a good idea to chat with a GP or skin professional first.

Also, don’t forget SPF! Salicylic Acid can make skin a little more sensitive to the sun, so daily sun protection is a must.

What is Salicylic Acid?

Salicylic Acid (or BHA if you want to get science-y) is a plant-derived organic acid that’s oil-soluble. Translation? It loves to penetrate deep into your pores to help clear out excess oil, dead skin cells and other bits that can clog things up. That’s why it’s such a superstar for anyone dealing with blackheads, breakouts or dull, congested skin.

Unlike harsher exfoliants, Salicylic Acid gently encourages your skin to shed old cells, making way for the fresh, glowy ones underneath. In our Gentle Exfoliating Micro Powder, we’ve used a carefully measured 1.5% Salicylic Acid, so it’s effective without being irritating.

Is this made of milk?

We aren’t called MooGoo because our products are made with milk. If you think about it, putting any meaningful amount of fresh milk into a cream and then putting it on a shelf in a store for a while would not end well – yuck! We do use ethically and sustainably sourced Milk Protein from a credible Australian supplier in a some of our skincare products because research has found that it helps to increase skin elasticity by up to 20%.
