Babies need cleansers in their bath for hygiene. Washing with water alone doesn’t remove much dirt and any of the other things babies can get into. But a lot of the commercial wash products out there are made with cheap, synthetic detergents that can strip the skin of its natural oils, leaving it high and dry.

The ones that make big bubbles can be particularly drying, but every parent knows, BABIES NEED BUBBLES! The biggest bubbles in town are made by Sodium Laureth Sulphate.

We take a different approach. We combine small amounts of 5 different natural cleaners as this can be milder on the skin than one concentrated cleanser. We chose natural cleansers that bubbled fairly well, although the bubbles don’t last quite as long as the ones that come from SLS. To keep the bubble action going, every now and then the water can be mixed up again to rebuild the bubbles. Now all that splashing around is going to good use.

We also added in some super soothing ingredients like Colloidal Rice Bran. Overall we think this is the best bubbly formula that could be made for babies (we know quite a few adults that love it too) and will leave your baby as soft as a baby’s… well you know.

Aqua (H₂O’s Fancy Name), Lauryl Glucoside (Glucose-Derived Cleanser), Decyl Glucoside (Glucose-Derived Cleanser), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Coconut-Derived Cleanser), Coco-Glucoside (Glucose-Derived Cleanser), Glyceryl Oleate (Glycerin Based Conditioner), Glycol Distearate (Emollient), Glyceryl Stearate Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate (Coconut-Derived Cleanser), Glyceryl Caprylate (Emollient), Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt), Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil.

Because we make our products for our families, we have a strict ingredient philosophy that excludes ingredients like Parabens, Phenoxyethanol and penetration enhancers.

We show all of the ingredients we use in our products on our website, not just the pretty ones. That way you know exactly what's in each one, and can get in touch if you have any more questions.

Why don't we make different cleansers for different skin types?

We often get asked why we don’t make different cleanser specific to different skin types such as dry, oily, normal or combination skin. While we believe that people have different skin types and different skin needs, if you look closely at ingredient labels, you’ll notice that there often isn't much difference between products specifically made for each variation. In our opinion, we don’t think all the different types of cleansers are needed if you have a good formula (we think ours are pretty darn good). A cleanser made for oily skin would have a higher concentration of cleansers than one made for dry skin, but you can achieve much the same result by varying the amount of cleanser you use or washing your skin twice, if needed.

Does the Mini Moo Bubbly Wash need to be washed off after use?

Adding a pump or two into a bath would not require washing off. If using in the shower, we would recommend you use this under the water which would wash it off for you. Use it just like a regular body cleanser, only it leaves your skin super soft!

Can I use MooGoo on a newborn?

We get this question a lot, and the simple answer is YES! All of the ingredients we use in our products are gentle enough for newborns, but we don’t recommend using our Night Cream or Anti-Ageing products on children. We suggest you always patch test first to check for allergies to any natural ingredients.

My baby accidentally ate some of the product, will they be ok?

We don’t recommend using our products as baby food, but if some is ingested you can rest assured that our products are made from 100% natural, edible ingredients.

What does "Dermatologically Tested" mean?

You may have seen the term “Dermatologically Tested” on lots of products before, but did you know there’s not an actual definition or regulation for this term? Because that didn’t sit right with us, and because our aim is to make products for people with really sensitive skin, we decided to send a bunch of them off to be tested in an independent lab on 54 people who reported having sensitive skin. The results were given on a scale of 0 to 5 with 0 being no irritation or redness and 5 being a reaction.

We’re happy to report that other than one person who had a reaction to the adhesive on the patch and another who found the patches painful to remove, all subjects reported 0 for redness and irritation for all the products we sent for testing.
